UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1998 DODGE MAXI VAN WITH A BRAUN WHEELCHAIR LIFT. THIS VAN IS NOT BRAND NEW AND HAS SOME MINOR PROBLEM THAT YOU MAY WANT TO ATTEND TOO. THE 5.2L V8 ENGINE RUNS GOOD. FIRES UP STRONG, SOUNDS GOOD, NO SMOKE, NO KNOCKS, GOOD OIL PRESSURE. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS AS IT SHOULD. THE ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT IS ON. THE BRAKES FEEL LOW AND IT WILL PROBABLY NEED NEW BRAKES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, A HIGH BATTERY VOLTAGE CODE CAME UP ON THE COMPUTER SCAN. THE FRONT END FEELS A LITTLE LOOSE.
THE VAN WAS SOLD TO ME AS HAVING NOT ACTUAL MILES. THE TITLE STATES NOT ACTUAL MILES. WITH THE VAN HAVING OVER 260,000 MILES ON IT I ASSUME THAT THIS IS SOME TYPE OF CLERICAL ERROR. IT SEEMS LIKE THE HEAT-A/C ONLY BLOWS OUT OF THE DEFROST. A/C COMPRESSOR GOES ON, CAN NOT TELL HOW COLD IT GET DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS 30 DEGREES OUTSIDE HERE.
THERE ARE SOME DENTS, DINGS, AND SCRATCHES ALL OVER THE VAN. THERE IS PREVIOUS BODY WORK ON THE VAN AND SOME OF THE BODY FILLER IS CRACKING. SOME TYPICAL RUST ON THE VAN FOR A 10 YEAR OLD MIDWEST DODGE.
I COULD NOT GET THE WHEEL CHAIR LIFT TO GO UP AND DOWN WHEN I WAS TAKING THE PICTURES. I HAVE GOTTEN TO WORK IN THE PAST. IT SEEMED TO WORK FINE, JUST A LITTLE SLOW. MAY NEED TO BE GREASED OR SOME FLUID ADDED.
THIS IS A VAN THAT RUNS WELL AND DOES DRIVE FAIRLY WELL. I HAVE BEEN AS HONEST THAT I COULD BE ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THIS VAN. I'M SURE THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY FIND OTHER MINOR THINGS WRONG WITH THE VAN THAT I DID NOT NOTICE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BRAND NEW VAN THIS ONE IS PROBABLY NOT THE ONE FOR YOU.
