The vehicle for sale is a 1987 Dodge Ram Van Conversion. The entire interior has been converted to that of an RV. It comes complete with fold out bed, kitchen with propane stove and electric refrigerator, and sink. The propane and water hook ups work perfectly. The van even has a cord that comes out of the back that plugs into a wall outlet that provides the van with electricity while parked. The electricity supplies power to the 6 12V plugs scattered throughout the interior. Much like an RV. Also like an RV it has two batteries, one under the hood and one stowed in the interior to run the lights and stuff when the vans off so it'll still start in the morning. The van runs and drives GREAT. All tires have 80% tread left on them and the spare is in perfect condition. The CD player works perfectly as does the four speakers mounted throughout the van. It passed smog three months ago with flying colors. Recently it received a brand new alternator and battery, and an ok from the mechanic.
The Bad:
- It has been hard to get the van to start lately, I am no mechanic but the battery seems to be the root of the problem because it doesn't hold a charge. Plus i think the starter isn't as good as it once was, but thats just a guess because im not a mechanic.
- The roof is handmade. When i first bought the van it had no roof. Yes thats rite, no roof. Apparently it had blown off in tornado during the previous owners cross country travels. But believe it or not me and sum friends spent an entire weekend crafting a roof that rivals the one it originally had. The current roof leaks very, very little air and barely shakes or makes noise going down the road. Plus the entire van is like one giant skylight now (see pictures).
Do not let sum of these minor problems discourage you, this van is a diamond in the rough. Whether your looking to part her out or tune her up and take her camping, shes perfect. For being 21 years old the van runs (once its coaxed into turning over), drives, and shifts EXCELLENTLY!!!!
